Our Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1 tutoring program begins at the beginning of Term 4 of each year and runs up to the end of Term 3 the following year, just before students commence their external HSC exams.
Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1 Course Overview
Our year 12 HSC Maths tutoring program builds upon the Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1 program, but is also suitable for students who are joining us midway through the year as we hold regular revision of previous topics.
This course covers all topics and outcomes of the NESA Syllabus – ‘3 unit’ and ‘2 unit’ component of Mathematics, so Extension 1 students just need to enrol in this program for complete maths help – there’s no need to separately enrol in the HSC Maths (2 unit) tutoring program. In addition to comprehensively covering all concepts, the program heavily focuses on relevant correct exam technique and giving our students exposure to a wide variety of exam-style possibilities.
This course is ideal for:
- Students who are intending to or are doing HSC Maths Extension 1
- Year 12 maths students wanting to improve ranks and marks at school
- Students who were in the Year 11 Mathematics Extension 1 program

2 hour weekly lessons

Tutoring course materials (concept explanations, summaries, study notes, example questions, worked solutions and exam-style homework) are provided each week in the form of a theory and homework booklet

Tutoring homework is expected to be completed and will be fully marked each week, with comments detailing every point of improvement

Free ongoing Workshop Tutorial support

Free online homework help

Topic Tests administered at the end of each major topic, with marks and vital statistics reported in the End of Term report

Online access to our repository of maths resources, exam papers with solutions and course summaries

If you’re concerned there’s a topic that’s not listed above, check our Year 11 Maths Extension 1 program as it may have been covered there. If you need specific help in a topic not listed in addition to following our year 12 Maths tutoring program, we may be able to organise some supplementary Maths 1 on 1 tutoring assistance for enrolled students.
Mathematics Extension 2 students do not need to enrol in this course as our Maths Extension 2 program includes all HSC Maths Extension 1 topics.
