Our Year 12 HSC English tutoring program begins at the beginning of Term 4 of each year and runs up to the end of Term 3 the following year, just before the external HSC exams. Our English tutoring program is tailored to your specific prescribed texts studied at school because your school assessments will be based on these prescribed texts. We do not mix students doing different prescribed texts into the same class.
Year 12 English Tutoring Course Overview
Our HSC English tutoring program equips students with the analysis and writing skills needed to achieve a band 6 in HSC English Advanced. Focus areas include:
- Text-specific analysis centered around the rubric (each text has important particular analyses that HSC markers look for in awarding marks)
- Proper essay structure – specific to each module
- Speech writing, creative writing and other formats commonly featured in HSC English exams
Each module is covered over an entire term, from the very beginning (no assumed knowledge) to the point where students are ready for the Paper 2 essay question (HSC ready). We run classes for multiple texts each term and many of our students choose to study more than one text in parallel per term.
This course is ideal for:
- Students who are intending to or are doing HSC English Advanced
- HSC English students wanting a strong foundation and improve understanding of their prescribed texts
- Master their writing skills specific to each English Module
2 hour weekly lessons
Tutoring course materials (concept explanations, summaries, study notes, example questions, worked solutions and exam-style homework) are provided each week in the form of a theory and homework booklet
Tutoring homework is expected to be completed and will be fully marked each week, with comments detailing every point of improvement
Free ongoing Workshop Tutorial support
Free online homework help
Topic Tests administered at the end of each major topic, with marks and vital statistics reported in the End of Term report
