Depth Studies and First-hand Investigations

From 2018 onwards, the syllabus requires Year 11 and Year 12 students to do a Depth Study, in each year, which could count 15% – 30% of your total assessment for the year. Common forms the Depth Study can take are:

  • Designing and performing a First-hand investigation
  • Secondary source analysis (writing a report / conducting literature review etc)

In addition to covering all theoretic content of the Year 11 Chemistry syllabus, our course will also provide students with actionable and practical guidance for their Depth Study assessment.
